THEATER: Best. Comedy. Ever.

OK, San Francisco friends... if there is one performance that you must see this year, here it is: Will Franken's monologue Grandpa, It's Not Fitting at the Marsh Theater. Karl and I went to see this last night and it absolutely blew my diaphragm. Franken, whom I had never heard of prior to this evening, is a master of surreal sketch comedy, fluently speaking the language of the Goon Show, Firesign Theater and Monty Python. But silliness alone doesn't cut it these days— Franken has the courage of his convictions. I won't spoil the exquisite pleasure of his show by telling you more about it, but let's just say that if he had a wider audience, fatwahs would be issued. Catch it while you can, before someone pulls a Van Gogh on him. link

I second that!
Thanks for sharing to both of you. Hopefully I will manage to see it next week.
